The Queen Nonchalantly Manhandling the Crown Jewels Is the Best Thing You’ll See All Day

January 15, 2018

In a rare interview with the BBC, Queen Elizabeth II shared memories of her coronation and came to grips, quite literally, with the Imperial State Crown that she wore on the day (and continues to wear for events like the state opening of parliament). In an unwittingly hilarious clip, the crown is gently placed in front of her by a member of her staff wearing gloves, and the queen wastes no time in grabbing hold of it. “This is what I do when I wear it!” she grins, spinning the crown round to admire the jewels.

“There are some disadvantages to crowns, but otherwise they’re quite important things,” she explains while describing exactly how to wear one (head up or you’ll break your neck). She’s later reunited with St Edward’s Crown, which she wore only once, at the very moment of her coronation. It’s so precious it can only be held by the queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the crown jeweler. “Is it still as heavy?” she asks, before picking it up with one hand like it’s just another piece of old costume jewelry. “It’s very solid, isn’t it?” she continues as she pokes at the edges of the intricate design.

Unsurprisingly, the people of twitter had a lot to say about the queen’s relaxed attitude toward these priceless pieces.

Armie Hammer: “It’s an artist thing, Polanski is a grey area.”

December 3, 2017

Professional thin lip Armie Hammer drops by to film an episode of Podcast "Happy Sad Confused", making sure to wax poetic at length over the lack of integrity in super hero films ("This is probably something I shouldn't talk about…") before dropping some loud and proud support for convicted child rapist Roman Polanski along the way.

Armie Hammer has decided 2017 is the year for you to find out how he really feels about rape, sexual assault, and moral grey areas.  He also wants to falsely lead you to believe that Nate Parker's past was a big, sad un-googleable secret despite it being posted prominately in the middle of his wikipedia page.

You can hear what he had to say at the around 43 minutes in, or if ONTD has progressed from never reading to also never listening, you can read the transcript below.

Host: So where are you in terms "separating the art from the artist"?
Hammer: We didn't, like, I mean… no one really knew. That was…
Host: Yeah, the next stuff came out after, no one really knew that past too well.
Hammer: I don't know, man, like… For me… (audible sigh)
Host: So like, if Polanski wants to work with you… what do you say?
Hammer: You know, it's funny man. Because part of me as an artist would say… there's not a lot of artists in history who don't have /something/ fucked up about them.
Host: Right…
Hammer: You don't find reasonable men at the top of large mountains, and sane people don't decide to become artists, because it's a weird job, with no job security and you know, whatever. But, it's… the idealist in me would like to think, like, okay, I'm not working with "Polanski" the person, I'm working with him as an artist and this is a new thing that he's doing and I think that he is a talented artist or whatever. But at the end of the day, like… as a human, and as someone who's trying to live a virtuous life, you kind of go "Is it worth it?" because you know there's going to be drama. You know it's going to be something that can overshadow what you're actually trying to do. So, I don't know, it's a grey area. It's full of grey, you know?
Host: I grew up, Woody Allen was my spirit animal, you know? Mel Gibson, I grew up with his films. I don't know if I can throw all of that out.
Hammer: Yeah, it's like… yeah. Yeah.

Jennifer Lopez Reveals the 1 Thing She Admires Most About Alex Rodriguez

October 31, 2017

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are giving the world a tiny peek into their relationship as the cover stars of Vanity Fair‘s December issue. The couple, who look like absolute royalty in the photos shot by famed photographer Mario Testino, spoke candidly about what makes their relationship work. “We put so much pressure on ourselves to be great, to be the best all the time,” Jennifer said. “We understood that about each other. When we came together it was ‘Oh my God, I was the same way.'”

The two also talk about their relationship in terms of “reveals”, which they refer to as unexpected moments that tell you who someone else is. “The hardest times prove who you are,” Jennifer continued. “That’s what I love and admire the most about Alex. He doesn’t let anything beat him. He just comes back stronger.”

The couple first met 12 years ago when Jennifer was married to ex-husband Marc Anthony (he’s also father to her kids, Max and Emme), but it wasn’t until years later when they were both single that Jennifer made the first move on Alex.

“I understand him in a way that I don’t think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could, ever,” she said. “In his 20s, he came into big success with the biggest baseball contract [at the time]. I had a No. 1 movie and a No. 1 album and made history. We both had ups and downs and challenges in our 30s, and by our 40s we’d both been through so much. And more importantly than anything, we had both done a lot of work on ourselves.”

Needless to say, these two are head over heels, and it shows every time they talk about each other.
