Former President George H.W. Bush remains in intensive care

former President George HW Bush remained in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Houston on Thursday, according to a hospital spokesman.

Bush, 88, a Republican who during his single term led a coalition that ejected Iraqi forces from Kuwait in 1991 was admitted to Methodist Hospital on November 23 for bronchitis. He was transferred to the intensive care unit on Sunday after setbacks, including persistent fever, spokesman Jim McGrath family said.

“I have no opinion so far today, except to say that no news is good news,” McGrath said Thursday.

Bush lower body parkinsonism, causing a loss of balance, and has used a wheelchair for more than a year.

The 41st U.S. president, and the father of former President George W. Bush served as a member of Congress, as ambassador to the United Nations, as ambassador to China, as CIA director and vice president for two terms of Ronald Reagan.
